Principal

Andre Mazzola Mardon is a principal in the law firm of Marrinan & Mazzola Mardon, P.C. A native of Sharon, Pennsylvania, a town that was home to a number of unionized industries, Andre has been a longtime advocate for organized labor. Andre began his legal career with the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union in its organizing department and shortly thereafter became an associate in the law firm of Gleason, Laitman, Mathews, Magidson & Rosen where he was initially involved in litigating issues relating to work preservation, sympathy strikes, and secondary boycotts. Soon after Andre joined the firm, he was assigned to a case that was ultimately considered by the Supreme Court of the United States and became a landmark case on work preservation under the National Labor Relations Act.

In later years, Andre's focus shifted to collective bargaining. He was a part of the negotiating team that overcame the union-busting tactics of the New York Daily News in 1990. The role of that negotiating team is favorably described in the book Strike: The Daily News War and the Future of American Labor by Richard Vigilante.

Andre has actively participated in coastwise collective bargaining related to what is known as the Master Contract for longshore workers represented by the International Longshoremen's Association. In addition, he is involved in union governance and contract enforcement. He has been instrumental in forming a series of unique vehicles for the funding of employee benefits. On a pro bono basis, Andre also volunteers as an advisor on legal issues to not-for-profit corporations.

Andre received a bachelor's degree in philosophy magna cum laude from St. Bonaventure University and a law degree from Temple University School of Law. He also attended the North American College and the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He is admitted to the practice of law in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and before the Supreme Court of the United States and various United States District Courts and Courts of Appeals.
